With 26 new players representing the Mornington FNC on the weekend we fielded a Senior and Reserve team for the first time!

The Reserves had a tough game on Saturday night at 5pm at Tyabb against a strong Tyabb team going down 9.15.69 to 1.0.1. The real pleasing thing about the whole game was the spirit and endeavour of the whole playing group all game. A goal late in the third quarter was the result of great team spirit and hard work. 14 of the 23 players played their very first game of Senior Womens football, which is a great outcome.

The Senior team unveiled its 2016 Premiership flag at home on Sunday at 2pm against Chirnside Park. It was great to see the Premiership players that had retired and played in the Reserves game all their to enjoy the raising of the Clubs first women’s Premiership flag.

Playing an experienced Chirnside Park team who have played in the last two VWFL Division 2 Preliminary Finals was a great test for us first up. The girls played 4 quarters of tough team football to win the game 8.13.61 to 1.5.11. A great win first up in front of a large home crowd. 12 new players to the Club joined players from last year’s playing group to play some very exciting football.

Next week (Mother’s Day) both team play at home with the Reserves at 12pm and the Seniors at 2pm. Get down to watch some exciting Womens football and support the two teams.
