Out at Langwarrin and yet another side that got us in the first half of the season that we wanted to try and avenge. It didn’t look to good early with Langy jumping out of the block on the scoreboard and trying to pressure us physically as well. 2 goals down at quarter time and back playing selfish football that we were accustom to seeing in the first half of the season. From that point we got back to playing team football and moved the ball quickly and Langy couldn’t go with us, we poured on the goals and finished winning by 40 points. Jimmy Cameron was superb in the middle all day, Warwick Miller continued his fantastic season, Jai Haddock reminded everyone why he is the best small back in the competition and Louis Astorino did some great things off half back. Great win boys, one to go, looking forward to putting Karingal to the sword this week.

A trip to Langwarrin for our second last game against one of the teams in the final this year was going to be a test for the boys to see how far we had come. For two and half quarters we matched Langwarrin and pushed them as hard as we could .With a drop in concentration Langy kicked 3 goals and went into three quarter time with a lead of around four goals .The boys battled hard in the last quarter but Langy kicked away and won convincingly in the end. With our last game at home against Karingal the club is hoping for three big wins to finish of the year. GO DOGGIES!

With two rounds to go and our finals aspirations out the window the boys have very little to play for other than regaining some equilibrium. Another flat start had us on the back foot from the get go and this game was essentially played in junk time after quarter time. Whilst our footy looked ok in small bursts our lack of pressure around the ground gave our opponents far to much room to work in. We will be looking for a lift in all areas for our last game at home.

A great contest in all grades was played in the spirit of netball against Langy. So proud of all our players.

D: Mel ran and ran, Steph shot @ 85%, Bec P rebounded strongly, Amie and Bec B worked hard @ WD, Pippa was in everything @GD, Loz covered every inch of the court @C without stepping and Naomi fired bullet passes into a tall target in Erica to win the last quarter.

C: Was a physical game with our girls having to work hard for every possession. Erica and Larissa were on song in the 2nd despite pressure by Langy defenders and we won the quarter. Melissa and Ainslie covered plenty of ground in the midcourt when we got turnovers. Well done Missy on winning a toss up.

B: Got off to a great start in a defenders game. Meg and Eliza got every defensive rebound to give us plenty of opportunity. 2nd quarter was even with goalers on both teams rarely missing. It came down to a shoot out in the last but Roos pegged us back and a draw was the final result.

A: Started slowly but lifted intensity in the 2nd to be up by 15 at the main break.  Vicki showed her footy skills taking a great mark. Sarah and Katey played as one in goals. Tess and Candace’s one/two plays with Georgia through the mid court was fantastic to watch as we notched up plenty of +ve stats. Tess pleading her case to the male umpire didn’t work but didn’t matter as we put together an awesome 4th to give us a % booster running out 34 goals victors. This sets up for a cracker against Karingal this week.
