Last round of the year at home against Karingal. The under 19’s and reserves started the day off well with wins and we were looking to get back some respect after an early season loss to Karingal. We started well banging on 5 goals to 2 in the first quarter, from there we continued to run all of the Bulls with 6 goals to 1 in the second and 4 goals to 2 in the third, eventually running out victors by 10 goals. Ryan O’Dell and Josh Halsall were both good again, finishing off a very good month for the 2 boys, Stuey Seager wound back the clock to finish with 4 majors along with Jacko and Wheels (4 goals each). I couldn’t be happier with the character the boys showed in the last 2 months of the season and everyone can head into 2017 with confidence that if they do the work as a group and continue to learn and develop then we will win more games next year and really push for the finals. Thanks to coaches , trainers, players committee members and supporters for a fantastic year, all your work and support is appreciated.

The last game was hear against a team that beat us in the first round. From the first bounce the boys were on big Lachy in the ruck was doing a great job with the boys getting it out of the centre down into the forward line with Doran and co doing the job on the score board ,with Hampton & Dalziel doing a great job on the wing kicking goals Karingal had no hope. The boys in the back line have become a tight knit group and done a fantastic job on Saturday with Paley running out of defence and setting up the boys down field. We won and it was a great day for the club. With all teams winning and the girls winning the big one WELL DONE. To all the boys who played in the reserves congratulations on a very trying year, even when things were not going our way you all hung in there and gave your all which shows a lot of character and hope to see you all back next year, to all the under 19s that helped us out we can’t thank you enough. I hate singling out one person but a special thanks to Bailey who every week come up to me and said if you need me to play no problem if the club takes that sort of commitment to next year there will be no stopping us. SEMI FINALS ROUND 2016

D and C grade played on Saturday morning and both teams showed a terrific defensive game against second placed Karingal.  Galloping Gablette was in and under @ GA and hardly worked up a sweat. With Dee and Sophie rocking it in defence and Missy’s bullet passes to the goalers we won the second half but not enough to get the chockies.

Thursday saw our B and A grades play.  Meg and Eliza were on their toes early and took the Bulls by surprise. With Grace backing up @WD and Leisel driving through the centre we were able to break their zone defence easily.  We are definitely the best team outside the 4 this season, just left our run too late.

As for A’s – they were Awesome. The enthusiasm driven by the huge crowd of supporters had the girls really pumped and didn’t disappoint. Tess H with her front cuts and Mon and Vick controlling the centre court we outplayed the Bulls for most of the game. Alex starred at GK against their tall GS and took every opportunity to grab any rebounds.

Excellent form leading up to next week’s semifinal.  Our girls are all fired up to give it a go.
