Big day for the reserves against a team one game in front of on the ladder. After the first quarter the boys were down a few goals and by half time not much had changed with the start of the second half it was like a different team had come out on the park. The boys pushed hard for the entire second half but could not bridge the gap. Even though we lost the game the effort the boys put in till the end was fantastic and should look forward to next game against Langwarrin at the Kennel

Round 7 had us journeying up the highway to take on Bonbeach. Over recent times Bonbeach Under 19's have been struggling for numbers and great credit must go to of a couple of my boys who took up the offer to fill in for our opponent allowing Mark to run some rotations of his bench. Thankyou to Jack Crawford and Jackson Poole for doing that. The players task for the day was to play out 80 minutes of footy without going through any mental lapses. For the most part this was achieved and we are now looking forward to taking on second placed Langwarrin at the kennel for what promises to be a great game of unders football.

A GRADE
With two defenders down this week the Mornington girls needed to be resourceful and creative with their line-up. Britt Archdeacon started in unfamiliar territory in defence and did a remarkable job. The mid-court pressure applied by Tess Haddock, Georgia Hunter and Candace Page was immense during the first term to successfully shut down the ball coming out of our attack end. Candace Page seemed to be everywhere and pulled in all rebounds on offer.
Tess Cooper came on in the second term and lit up the court. Pulling in seemingly impossible intercepts through the mid-court was an absolute crowd pleaser.
Sarah Williams really stepped up in goals, positioning and presenting well for the feed from Vicki Sanford who was likewise positioning well on the circle.
In the second half Katey Rudolph moved into defence and also did an admirable job, playing out of position. Despite a close first term, the team streaked away to a 22 goal victory.

B GRADE
The B grade side were impressive from the outset. Chris Anthony and Monica Watkins were powerful through the mid-court, using their speed and tenacity to penetrate space and create many turn-overs. Eliza Tatham and Sophie Baker played an exceptional game together in defence and provided the side plenty of turn-overs to put the team back into attack. But the goaling combination of Katey Rudolph and Holly Newton was the standout for the match, shooting prolifically throughout the match. The side welcomed back Grace Cooper whose steady, measured play has been missed whilst she was overseas. The girls were run away winners by 38 goals.

C GRADE
C Grade also had another convincing win beating Bonbeach 43 to 27. Best on today to Jacqui Eastgate, today she had a much better goaling game doubling last weeks percentage. With a more controlled game it settled our attacking end and only positives can come of that. And yet again our defence Meg and Sarah killed it !! Unfortunately we lost our third defender Amanda to an ACL injury sustained at footy. All the best for a speedy recovery. The C team are looking strong!!!

D GRADE
D Grade had another great win this week again, beating Bonbeach 32-15
Watching the skills in warm up I knew these girls were a force to be reckoned with today. My best on go to Lucy in the centre court and Pippa in defence. Pippa shut a very strong GA down for the entire 2nd quarter. She works tirelessly every game. Great team effort again today.
